“Few and far between are the events which can be termed
‘Win-Win.’ However, that is exactly the type of positive situation that
Caretakers of America has created.” The Rocky Mountain News
A TYPICAL CARETAKER is a professional relocating
from out-of-state. He or she is 37 years old, married, and is a person who
values the opportunity to live in an attractive home while his or her living
situation is in transition. Each caretaker is contractually required to
maintain a property’s yard; guard against weather-related hazards such as
frozen pipes and flooding; remove snow if necessary and, most importantly,
keep the home in read-to-show condition from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days
a week.
ABOUT OUR CARETAKERS Our caretakers are terrific people. Without
the quality individuals we have in our program we would not have the reputation
that we do. We must meet our commitments to our clients and without the
cooperation of our caretakers it would be impossible. Caretakers understand
that they must cooperate with salesperson for open houses and showings;
most of the time this requires they be away from the premises. They realize
that their primary responsibility is to help make the home more saleable.
Immediately after the sale of the home, caretakers must be ready to relocate.
Home sales usually close about 30 days after the agreement, allowing sufficient
time to place the resident in another home. Although we can never guarantee
a caretaker a length of time that he/she will occupy a home, we take the
sting out of uncertainty by arranging for another home for the caretaker.
We make sure that no closing is ever held up by our caretaker – if necessary,
the caretaker will vacate within ten days.”
